Located right in the heart of Solo, Solo Paragon is one modern apartment-turned hotel in town. It’s easy to find, you just have to find the tallest building there.
We're tavelling with family of an odd number of 6. So, we're looking for an apartment-type of hotel. That's how we found this "Executive Suite" of Solo Paragon. There’s no lounge whatsoever (we asked upon booking), so staying in a suite means you just get a larger room plus a living room large enough for family gathering. Well, the hotel is more like a service residence afterall. One downside is breakfast not included (it’s Rp. 60k/person if you want to have breakfast). But hey, you’re in Solo, there are plenty of nasi liwet around. Just go down the hotel, walk around and you’ll find many street vendors ready to sell breakfast.

Don’t let those disappoint you. The hotel is on a great location, right above the mall. Parkings are plenty and check-in is super smooth. Beds are comfortable and you’ll feel truly like home. “I love this hotel, Mom. It’s spacious and feels like my own apartment.” That’s the first thing Andrew said upon entering the room. And Andrew loves staying in when he’s in a hotel so this place is a perfect match for him.
- If you’re travelling in a group of 4-5 adults, check the suites. It’s cheaper and will give you more space than booking 3 single rooms. Executive suite has 3 bedrooms and a living room, perfect for a family getaways. 1 bedroom is like a different hotel room of its own with bathroom and door on its own.
- Try booking directly by calling the hotel. We tried websites like Agoda, but the suite isn’t listed. So we called in and the hotel recommended booking the suite.
- Get direction first. Solo has several one-way streets and we went lost before we finally find our way to the hotel – the entrance is quite tricky.
